Capital Candy Company Inc. wants to help our community and yours. Here are some of the ways that we are doing so:

Annual Charity Golf Tournament

On August 17th of this year we will be holding our Annual Charity Golf Tournament. We typically spend the day with 144 of our closest golfing friends and have a day of fun while raising on average $15000. We end the day with a BBQ dinner and prize giveaway. This year’s recipients of the proceeds are the Capital Candy Scholarship Fund and the Peoples Health and Wellness Clinic.

The Clinics mission is to provide primary health care to the uninsured and the underinsured community members of Central Vermont who cannot otherwise afford these services.

The Capital Candy Scholarship fund awards scholarships to individuals to use at any accredited University, College or Vocational school. These scholarships are awarded to an employee of either Capital Candy or an employee or family member of a customer of Capital Candy. Scholarships are awarded in the spring of the year.

Capital Candy also donates to various charities, tradeshows, golf tournaments, food banks and organizations throughout the year both monetarily and with product.

Employee Fun!!

Capital Candy recently visited Six Flags of NewEngland with two busloads of employees and family. Many others drove separately. Whether spending the day on spectacular Rollercoasters or in the Water Park, everyone had a blast. We all enjoyed lunch together and then took off for more adventure. This is Capital’s third year of holding such an event.

Caring for our Environment

We as a company are making efforts to become a more environmentally friendly company and are doing many things to reduce our “carbon footprint” We make sure to recycle as much as we can including the following items, office paper, cardboard, shrink-wrap and pallets. We also as much as possible pack our orders to our customers in reusable plastic totes instead of cardboard boxes.

We use items such as self-dimmable and motion sensing high efficiency lighting, so that lighting goes out when no one is in an area and we work with the Vermont Energy Efficiency group Efficiency Vermont to help button up our facility as much as possible.

We also minimize the mileage we put on our trucks through constant route and sales adjustments for maximum fleet utilization. It is because of this effort that we can show additional savings and discounts to our customers.
